Alan H. Hoffman, 59, of Galion, died Saturday, December 28, 2013 at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus after an extended illness.
Born June 12, 1954 in Crestline, he was the son of the late Harl Eugene Hoffman and Leona A. (Pollock) Hoffman of Leesville. He married Jane A. (Stirm) Hoffman on April 16, 1994 and she survives.
He was a graduate of Colonel Crawford High School in 1973 and first drove truck for Coral Corporation Seating in Mansfield, and later for many years for Design Metal Products in Mansfield and recently has worked for Whirlpool in Marion. Alan enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking and watching his grandchildren play sports.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by three sons, Terry A. Hoffman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Michael A. Hoffman and special friend Cindy Rider of Galion and Adam L. Hoffman of Crestline; two stepchildren, Dawn and Matt Bailey of Galion and Jeremy and Patty Young of Crestline; nine grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob, Logan, Dylan, Hali, Zach, Kaylyn, Hayden and Makayla; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leroy and Angie Hoffman of Leesville and David and Lin Hoffman of Crestline and his special buddy, Jake, his beagle pup.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by one brother, William Hoffman.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel in Galion where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 3, with Pastor Mike Corwin officiating. Burial will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
