Andrew M. Martinez, born October 29, 1924, died Friday, March 29 at Hospice of Holland.
He served in the armed forces during World War II.
A General Motor's tool and die maker from Galion, Ohio, lived out his retirement days in Holland, Michigan.
Preceded by his wife, Retha Marie Martinez, 2001, and grandson Curtis James Hosta, 1999.
Mourned by his daughter, Susan Hosta, son-in-law, Cary Hosta, granddaughter Anna Marie Hosta, Sister Lola Martinez, several nieces and nephews, friend & caregiver, Sue Ferris, and little friend Wicket.
He enjoyed golfing with family and friends at Valley View Golf course and in his younger days enjoyed being a member of the Sunset Ramblers. A member of the Veteran's of Foreign War and the Elks club.He was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2005. A faithful Buckeye fan always.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Galion, Friday, April 5 at Noon. A luncheon will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria and a gravesite service at Mansfield Memorial Gardens will begin at 2:45 p.m.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation or Hospice of Holland, Michigan.
