Carl Smith, 75, of Galion, OH died November 28, 2013. Born on October 27, 1938 in Olive Hill, KY, he was the son of Frank Butler and Mary Lizzie Smith. Married to his wife Beverly for 42 years, Carl was a true family man who loved his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed traveling, camping, tinkering with cars, and collecting small model cars. Carl's loyal companion and best friend, his Chihuahua Chico, never left his side.
Surviving are wife, Beverly (Shaffer) Smith; daughters, Mary Earl of Liberty, KY; Jeannie (Jack) Chambers of Arkansas, Janet Lynn Smith of Galion, Debbie Hicks of TN, and Vickie McCrea of Marion; sons, David (Monica) Zellner of TN, James Scott McCrea of FL, Jack McCrea of TN, and Carl (Angie) McCrea of Galion; nineteen grandkids; twenty one great grandkids; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; two grandkids; two brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Dave Mahon, will be held Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, OH 44902. Friends are invited to call from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
