Carolyn Ann (Fabian) Schlup, age 83, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 in Atlanta, Ga.
She was born in Galion, Ohio on May 6, 1930 to the late Alvin and Ida Fabian. Carolyn graduated from Galion High School. She married the late Dean E. Schlup on August 1, 1953.
Soon after their marriage Dean and Carol started a career that took them all across the globe.
Before settling back in the United States for retirement, Carolyn and her family lived in Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia, Indonesia, Mexico, Australia and Japan. She looked at every move as an adventure and embraced every new culture with enthusiasm and humor.
Throughout these experiences she never met a stranger and always seemed to have a new best friend around the corner. Lots of good times, lots of laughs - she could always entertain a crowd.
Dean and Carol retired to Santa Maria, Ca in 1991 where she lived until she moved to Atlanta, Ga. in 2009.
Carolyn loved to play bridge, golf, bingo, and Wii Bowling. She was always up for a game.
Carolyn is survived by her four children and their spouses; Mark and Dana Schlup of Atlanta, Ga., Mary and David Woodruff of Midland, Tx., Kirk and Trisha Schlup of Woodbury, Conn., and Susan and Chris Miller of Tulsa, Ok. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and their spouses; Josh and Jill Schlup of Mobile, Al., Jessica and Adam Johnson of Athens, Ga,, Christopher Woodruff of Midland, Tx., Bryan and Jenna Woodruff of Santa Maria, Ca.,, Luke and Mickelle Schlup of Woodstock, Ga., Jason and Aubry Schlup, of Newnan, Ga., Jaclyn Schlup, of New York, New York and Heidi and Hailey Greeson of Tulsa, Ok. She also had nine great grandchildren; Jonah, Lynsey, Landon, Sophie, Levi, David Lee, Christopher James, Lucas and Zane.
Services for Carolyn will be held on April 12, 2014 at Atria, 9 Sherwood SE, Marietta, Ga. 30067
