Donna J. Shipman, 82, of Galion, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 at Olentangy Woods Nursing Center in Galion.
Born Feb. 12, 1931 in Marion, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Luarrie (Newman) Miley. She was preceded in death on May 10, 1999 by her husband, Don E. Shipman whom she married Mar. 10, 1976. She was previously married to Robert E. Reeks who preceded her in death.
Donna was a foster parent for several years. She was a realtor with Sluss Realty and was employed with Neff Brothers Supermarket for 20 years. She had many friends and was noted to be a generous person and an avid bingo player.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Roxann and John Ramsey of Galion and Rosalee and Ken Mattei of Sterling Heights, Mich.; four grandchildren, Stacy (Shawn) Newton, Heather (Jason) Sweitzer, Joe (Stephanie) Mattei and Ashley Mattei; three great-grandchildren, Sydney and Zachary Newton and Arianna Mattei; five stepchildren, Gene Shipman, Ron Shipman, Doyle Shipman, David Shipman and Donna K. Bauer; one sister, Nancy Ferguson of Marion and two brothers, Michael (Judy) Miley of Marion and Harold (Betty) Miley of Virginia Beach, Va.
Graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday Mar. 2, 2013 with Pastor Jerry Penrod, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Galion. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion.
