Elizabeth Welsh, 83, of Crestline, died Thursday, July 18, 2013 at her home.
Elizabeth was born in Natrona, PA on February 13, 1930 to the late Boleslaw and Apolonia (Kolakowski) Zmijewski. She married Thomas W. Welsh on January 12, 1952 in New Kensington, PA and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2009.
Elizabeth was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She devoted her life to her family and her flowers. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time on her porch working the daily crossword puzzle.
She is survived by her two sons: Thomas Welsh, Jr., Crestline; Edward & Robin Welsh, Crestline; her three daughters: Cynthia & Carl McGlaughlin, Mechanicsburg, OH; Marsha Welsh, Mechanicsburg, PA; and Pamela Welsh, Arlington, VA; her eight Grandchildren;and her eleven Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son James Welsh; her daughter Kathleen Snavely, and her three brothers: Richard Zmijewski, Raymond Zmijewski and Albert Zmijewski.
Friends may call Monday, July 22, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline. A Vigil Service will be held Monday, July 22, 2013 at 8:30 PM with Deacon William Horning and Elizabeth's daughter, Marsha Welsh officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline, with Rev. Michael A. Geiger officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Crestline.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline or the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
