Elnora M. Matlack, 97, of Markle, Ind. and formerly of Morrow County died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at home.
Born Dec. 29, 1914 in Bellefontaine, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Nora (Inskeep) Yelton. She was preceded in death on Apr. 1, 1967 by her husband, Frank Matlack whom she married on Feb. 2, 1934.
Elnora was a member of the Pines Christian Church in Mt. Gilead, and was a Morrow County resident for over 60 years. She has been living in Indiana since 2005 and she enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing and was always working. Elnora was a homemaker and worked at the Galion Community Hospital for many years in the housekeeping department, where she was a seamstress.
She is survived by one son, Richard Y. Matlack of Mt. Gilead; two daughters and one son-in-law, Nora and Daryl Mason of Ashland and Gertrude Brown of Markle, Ind.; seven grandchildren and a half-sister, Martha Jean King of California.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Roy Yelton; one sister, Opal Mummey; one son, Dean Frank and one daughter, Sue Matlack.
Friends may call from 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec 20, 2012 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20 with Minister Mark Billiter officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at Greenlawn Cemetery in West Mansfield, Ohio.
