F. Sherman Pratt, 82, of Galion, died Monday, April 22, 2013 at Altercare of Bucyrus.
Sherman was born in Painesville, on June 4, 1930 to the late Percy and Helen (Close) Pratt. He married Bernice M. Jeffers on July, 9, 1955 and she survives him.
He retired from Republic Steel, Massillon working in Production Planning and Inventory Control. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Sherman enjoyed making balsawood model airplanes. He was a very good pianist and loved playing classical music. He was an avid reader.
He is survived by his wife Bernice; his son Stephen & Carolyn Pratt, Cambridge; his daughters Linda Coulter, Bucyrus and Cynthia & Charles Klein, Lebanon; seven grandchildren: Carly Pratt, Julie Pratt, Kristen Pratt, all of Cambridge; Jessica Coulter, Bucyrus; Matthew Klein, Lebanon, Savannah Klein, FL and Benjamin Klein, Lebanon; one great-granddaughter MacKenzie Muston, FL; and his two sisters Ellen Pratt, Chula Vista, CA and Barbara Pratt, Saginaw, MI.
He was preceded in death by his son Philip Pratt in 2005.
Friends may call one hour prior to funeral services which will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion, with Rev. Barbara Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion with military honors by the U.S. Army and the local Galion/Crestline Service Organizations.
