MANSFIELD-Franklin "Frank" Smith, 56, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 following injuries sustained from an automobile accident.
Frank was born October 9, 1957 in Galion the son of Russell and Annabelle (Mills) Smith, and was graduated from Lexington High School in 1976. Frank was honorably discharged from the Air Force.
Selfless and giving, Frank always offered a helping hand. A great man with a huge heart, he simply placed the needs of others above his own.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Frank attended Lexington Church of Christ.
He is survived by two sons Justin Smith of Galion and Peter (Wendy) Smith of Galion; grandchildren Ryland and Aiden Smith and Brittany Haga; mother Annabelle Swift of Mansfield; sister Nedra (Ronald) Ernest of Lexington; brother David (Darlene) Smith of Cardington; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father Russell Smith.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 10am-12 noon at the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where memorial services will begin at 12 noon. Pastor Tj Waters will officiate. Military honors will be performed by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
Memorial contributions payable to, Snyder Funeral Homes, may be made at the funeral home to assist the Smith family with funeral expenses.
