Robert "Bob" Godby, age 58, resident of Galion died unexpectedly Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Galion Community Hospital.

Born November 21, 1955 in Shelby to Bonnie J. Liegey and Robert M. Godby. Bob had been a Crawford County resident for 22 years. Bob was the owner/operator of Godby Video Services. He was an active member of the Gospel Baptist Church in Galion where he was a Sunday school teacher and director of the church car show. He cherished his church and church family. He was a member of the North American Fishing Club and the National Restaurant Association.

A music buff, he enjoyed Tampa, Fl., baseball, cars, fishing, NASCAR, NASA, was a reader for the Academic Challenge for area schools and was active with the Colonel Crawford School District.

He is survived by his wife, Terri (Kaple) Godby, whom he married December 10, 1986, of Galion; Daughter, Allison Godby of New Albany; Son, Andrew Godby of Galion; Doggie-son, Bentley Armani and three grand puppies, Sampson, Duke and Jackson; Parents, Wayne and Bonnie Liegey of Summerfield, FL, Robert M (Pat) Godby of Tunnel Hill, GA. brother, Bill (Martha) Godby of Orlando; sister, Terri "Tiger" (Dave) Perkins of Shelby and brother, Brian Liegey of Orlando; half-brother, Paul (Kristine) Godby of Rochester, NY. Numerous nieces nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Hattie Goodwin; grandparents, Rufus & Lucille Browning and William & Edna Godby.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday April 24, 2014 at the Gospel Baptist Church at 5670 St. Rt. 19, Galion, Ohio 44833 with Pastor Monty Trammel officiating. Friends may call at the church n Galion on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial expressions may be made to the family. Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby is assisting the family with arrangements.
