Esther (Paganelli) Carter, 98, of Galion, died Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Galion Pointe Nursing Home, Galion after a short illness.
Esther was born in Brockway, PA on March 22, 1916 to the late Jack and Mary (Castina) Paganelli. She married Daniel L. Carter on September 7, 1940 and he preceded her in death on April 24, 1998.
Esther has lived in Galion since 1953, moving here from Alliance. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Crestline where she was an active member of the former Altar and Rosary Society. She was a past President of the Emblem Club of the Ladies Elks Club, and a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, all of Galion. Esther enjoyed Bingo and loved her family get-togethers.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Beck of Galion, one granddaughter, Phyllis and Dennis Herr, two great grandchildren, Emily Herr and Ted Herr all of Crestline, one sister, Edith Cironi, Carrollton, TX, and numerous nieces, nephews, and step-relatives.
She was preceded in death by her two sons-in-law, Paul J. Beck and Harold J. Arnold; her two sisters, Lena Aanderud, and Laura Polinori, and her two brothers, Ray Paganelli and Irvin Paganelli.
Friends may call Thursday May 1, 2014, from 4-8PM at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline where an Eagles Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 2, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline, with Rev. Michael A. Geiger officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens, Crestline.
