Ronald G. Seevers, 68, of Galion, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at home, surrounded by his family, after a seven month illness.
Born Jan. 29, 1944 in Galion, he was raised by his mother, Lorena (Baylor) Champion of Galion and his step-father, the late John Champion.
He was a 1962 graduate of Galion High School. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 in Galion. He was parts manager for the former Perfection-Cobey Co. in Galion from 1964 until 1979 and was the custodian at the Galion Moose Lodge for 26 years.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are one brother, Lloyd Champion of Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Roberta Keiter of Dalton, Pa.; Rosie (Don) Faulds of Galion, Rena (Larry) Lovely of Galion; six half-brothers and sisters, Gail Seevers, Dirk Seevers, Eric (Linda) Seevers, Susan (Mark) Elder, Shelly (Ron) Cunningham and Jennifer (Tom) McMahon; numerous nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews and his step-mother, Marilyn Seevers of Florida.
In addition to his step-father, John Champion, he was preceded in death by two sons, Tony Seevers and Mike Seevers; his father, Royce G. Seevers and two half-brothers, Gregory Seevers and Garth Seevers.
Graveside services at Fairview Cemetery in Galion will be held and announced at a later date with Pastor Jed Brake, Hospice Chaplain, officiating.
Arrangements are in the care of Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion.
