G. Elaine Tucker, 80, of Galion, died Friday, April 26, 2013 at home after an extended illness.
Born Jan. 12, 1933 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late E. Wayne and Edna (Grogg) McHenry. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jack A. Tucker whom she married on July 16, 1954.
She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1950 and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Galion. She was an avid reader, previously was a volunteer for the Meals-On-Wheels program, enjoyed crossword puzzles and traveling with her husband. Recently she has enjoyed the Galion High School class of 1950 monthly lunch group. She retired from the City of Galion Utilities where she was a billing clerk and had worked for over 30 years.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lonnie and Tom O'Leary of Galion and Sue and Mike Beebe of Norwalk; six grandchildren, Timothy (Joni), Jacob, Michael and Nathan (Jen) O'Leary and Matthew and Joshua Beebe and three special girlfriends, Joanna, Carmen and Caitlin and one sister, Marilyn Bayles of Galion.
In addition to her parents and husband she is also preceded in death by one sister, Aileen Wilcox and four brothers, Robert, Richard Vere, Milton and Dale McHenry.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 2, at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Snode officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
