MOUNT HOLLY - Virginia Mae Bassett, 72, of 213 Lamplighter Lane, died Nov. 10, 2012.
She was born in Pensacola, Fla., daughter of the late William Clinton and Violet Gilley Brown.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Holly Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Phillip Justin Bassett; one son, Steven Bassett of Canby, Oregon; four daughters, Vanessa Croft, of Charlotte, Rebecca Smith and husband, Matthew of York, SC, Beverly Benfield and hus-band Garry of Mount Holly, and Laura Bramhall and husband Steven of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters, Yvonne Hughes of Kannapolis, and Juanita McCary and husband Ronnie of Pensacola, Fla.; three brothers, Robert Brown and wife Velma of Pensacola, Fla., Philip Brown and wife Ann of Texas, and Charles Brown and wife Debbie of Pensacola, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bassett will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Mount Holly, with Brother Larry Stratton and Brother Edward Palmer officiating.
Burial will be at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.
Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly is serving the family.

Ginny you were not only like a grandmother to me; you were my best friend and my confidant. There are not many classy ladies like you left in the world. And I miss you so much and will continue to until the paradise where neither you or me will hurt again. And I'm sure we will have plenty to catch up on. Lol Love you, talk to. You soon!
