GASTONIA - Robert A. Stowe Jr., 76, went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2013, at Robin Johnson House.
He was born Jan. 30, 1937, in Gaston County, to the late Robert Stowe and Kathleen Parker Stowe Martin.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the 505th Engineering Battalion, Gastonia.
Robert is survived by his wife, Nancy Jackson Stowe; daughter, Renee Stowe Black and husband, Mark; son, Douglas Stowe; three grandsons, Alex and Jennifer Clark, Bobby and Nicole Clark, and Blake Stowe; two great-granddaughters, Addison and Brooklyn Clark; two sisters, Mary Stowe, and Judy and Jimmy Long; six brothers, Basil and Freda Stowe, David Stowe, Kenneth and Nancy Stowe, Hugh and Delane Stowe, Bill and Violet Stowe, and Steve and Robin Stowe; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Lakeview Baptist Church, 143 Church St., McAdenville with Buck Harper and Harold Fite officiating. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m., prior to the service.
Memorials may be given to the Robin Johnson House, 5005 Shepherds Way Drive, Dallas NC 28034.
A Simple Service, burial and cremation, is serving the family 704-884-0150.
