LOWELL - Robert "Bob" Alexander Harrison Sr., 96, died peacefully on Dec. 26, 2012, at the Heartfields Assisted Living in Cary, NC.
He was a native of Lowell and the son of the late John W. and Jennie Lineberger Harrison.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian Church of Lowell with the Rev. Robert F. Hinman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday in the fellowship hall of the Presbyterian Church of Lowell.
Interment will be private.
Bob was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church of Lowell serving as an Elder, Deacon and church treasurer for 31 years. He used his wood-working hobby to make crosses for all baptized members of the Presbyterian Church of Lowell. Mr. Harrison served with the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Lowell Lions Club for 45 years and served on the town board for several years.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert A. Harrison Jr. and wife Harlanette of Apex, NC, Scott C. Harrison and wife Janet of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren, Anna H. Ayscue and husband Zach of Henderson, NC, Cameron Harrison of Apex, NC, Jennifer Harrison and Beth Harrison of Colorado Springs, Colo.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Nell Carpenter Harrison, sisters, Edith Barnhill, Elizabeth Helton, Katherine Webb and brother, John Harrison.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Lowell, Men's Project Fund, P.O. Box 518 Lowell, N.C. 28098.
