STANLEY - Dorothy Davis McPherson, 95, died July 2, 2013, at Stanley Total Living Center.
She was born in Elizabeth City, daughter of the late Gardner Sawyer "Bruce" Davis and Lula Jennings Davis, and was preceded in death by her hus-band William Earl McPherson. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church in Elizabeth City, and attended Alexis Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son Bill McPherson and wife Betsy of Iron Station, a brother Calvin K. Davis and wife Sarah of Atlanta, Ga; two grandchildren Mi-chael T. McPherson and wife Kristen, Amy M. Leophard and husband Tim; eight great grandchildren Laura and Madison McPherson, Gracie, Kylie Ann, and Ella Leophard, Michael, Eric , and Trent Ivester.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. McPherson will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Alexis Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Sandy Marks and the Rev. Mack Pressley officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Inurnment will be in the Old Hollywood Cemetery in Elizabeth City.
Memorials may be made to Alexis Baptist Church, PO Box 39, Alexis, NC 28006.
Woodlawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
