Lincoln.

Born Aug. 18, 1928, in Gaston County, he was a son of the late Andrew C. Canipe and Lucille Jones Canipe.

BESSEMER CITY - Earl Edward Finley, 57, of 304 Mountain Meadows Drive, died May 14, 2013, at CaroMont Medical Center in Gastonia.

Born on Oct. 3, 1955, in Ohio, he was the only son of the late Earl Edward Finley Sr. and Georgia Rose Finley. He had spent time in McDowell County but had lived in North Carolina for most of his life.

He was an avid golfer and was a loving and devoted grandfather.

Survivors include his long time companion: Gail King of the home; stepdaughters, Carmen Turner of Stanley, Catherine Lunsford of Granite Falls; three step-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 9 a.m. Sunday at the O'Darcy Mountain View Driving Range, 4064 Mountain view Street, Gastonia, 28056.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Rev. Omar Burns officiating.

Burial will be at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va., where his family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service at the funeral home.

He was born in High Point to the late Clarence and Eula Gourley.

YORK, S.C. - Mark Anthony "Tony" Hawkins, 51, of 2420 Wood Road, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Palmetto Richland Hospital in Co-lumbia.

Tony was the son of Grier Hawkins and Shirley Childers Hawkins.

Born in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Robert Henry Lee and Katherine Elizabeth Tucker Lee.

GASTONIA - Anne Threadgill Presley, 69, passed away May 14, 2013, at Robin Johnson House.

She was born Aug. 25, 1943, in Monroe, to the late James and Almetta Knight Threadgill. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Louise T Whitley and Ruth T Privette and brother Thomas Olin Threadgill. Anne was a member of Community Baptist
Church in Dallas and retired from Freedom Newspaper.

Anne is survived by her husband Jim; sisters Peggy Kiker, June (Earl) Love both of Monroe NC and Ruby Clayton of Lugoff SC; daughter An-nette Tarlton (Jon)Luther; sons Michael (Robin) and Jamie (Sandy) Tarlton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

She is also survived by her special friend Betty Simms, mother-in-law Jerry Presley and beloved pets Poochie and Sassy.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the Community Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Robin Johnson House, 5005 Shepards Way, Dallas NC 28034.

YORK, S.C. - Patrick "Pat" Odell Reid, 24, of Baltimore, Md., formerly of York, died May 12, 2013, at John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Md.

He was born Nov. 27, 1988, in York, son of Mary Christine Reid and John Robinson.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Fishing Creek Baptist Church in York with the Rev. Reginald McClean officiating.

Burial will be in Uniondale Cemetery.
