RUTHERFORDTON - Albert Lee McDaniel, 78, died Friday, April 24, 2015, at Carolinas HealthCare System Cleveland. Born Sept. 12, 1936, in Gwinnett County, Ga., he was a son of the late Bob Lee McDaniel and Ruby Nell Irvin McDaniel. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015, at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Scott Holland officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. The body will lie in state from 8 a.m. until service time on Monday evening. LINCOLNTON - Dorothy Morton Moore, 73, of 923 Gaston Street, died April 23, 2015. Mrs. Moore was born Sept. 3, 1941, in Chilton County, Ala., to the late Bert and Rosie Perry Morton. Her funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Marsh, Robert* - Mount Holly  
MOUNT HOLLY - Robert Lee Marsh, 56, passed away April 20, 2015. He was born June 10, 1958, to the late Darrell "Wick" Marsh and Lorna Thomas Marsh in DuBois, Pa. He earned Eagle Scout honor and graduated from DuBois Area High in 1976, moved to Charlotte in 1979 (leading a small group of fellow "Yankees" who would follow him shortly thereafter), married the love of his life, Diane Laska Marsh, and had his first son in 1984. Rob worked as a machinist/HVAC specialist for over 30 years by trade, but be-came skillful in many other areas along the way, including woodwork, mechanics, landscaping, and camping, all while being a strong and wonderful father to his three children. He was a jack of all trades and was known for the occasional crazy project (those who knew him will recall "Loser Lake"), and his love of pizza and lengthy stories. Rob never met a stranger, considered friends as family, and had a genuine love of people, music, humor, and a good time. He passed away peacefully in bed on Monday, but his legacy will live on in the many lives he touched. Survivors include Diane Laska Marsh, wife of 28 years; children, Ryan, Jessica, and Eric Marsh; grand-children, Kendra Hawley and Kamri Marsh; mother, Lorna Thomas Marsh; siblings, Cheryl Hassleman; and his beloved dogs, Daisy and Tessa. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Marsh will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's choice. SHELBY - Ebba Marie Blanton Towery Masimore, 92, died April 18, 2015, at Peak Resources of Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Massey, Pamela* - Gastonia  
GASTONIA - Pamela France Massey, 66, passed away April 18, 2015, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born in Dandridge, Tenn. on Dec. 15, 1948, to the late Richard France and Marjorie Hall McDonald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Larry France. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Malcolm "Mick" Massey; her son, Chris Massey and wife Mandy of Gastonia; her three granddaughters, Ashton, Ella Kate, and Harper; her brother, David France and wife Ruth of Dandridge, Tenn.; her sister, Mary Hayes and husband Robert of Dallas; her sister-in-law Kim France; numerous nieces and nephews. For 37 years, Pam was a member of Firestone Wesleyan Church where she belonged to Wesley-an Women and the Faith Partners Sunday school class. She traveled to Russia, Jamaica and the Domini-can Republic on mission trips in order to serve others. Pam was on the Gastonia committee for the distribution of the Jesus Film and served on the Executive Committee of the Will Graham Gastonia crusade. She was Director of Corporate and External Affairs for Bellsouth when she retired after 32 years of service. With Gaston Chamber of Commerce, Pam was Chairman of First Business EXPO held at Gaston College under Executive Director, Tim Helms; Chairman for three years for Governmental Affairs Council. In cooperation with Gaston Schools and the Gaston Chamber, she chaired the committee that utilized volunteers to wire every school in Gaston to the Internet. Arlington Elementary named their computer lab: The Pam Massey Technology Lab. She was a board member for Belmont, Bessemer City and Cherryville Chambers; BACA Board - Belmont Abbey College; Board member - Gaston United Way for 7 years and was Events Chair, Volunteer Chair and in 1999 was pacesetter Chair and through the cooperation of the Pacesetter Companies, she raised 1/3 of the total budget for 1999-2000. She was on the United Arts Council Board where she chaired the Small Business Campaign that raised $10,000 in two days through a telethon. She chaired the United Arts Council Campaign in 97-98 and for the first time in numerous years, not only met the goal but also exceeded it by raising over $130,000. On the East Gastonia Rotary Board, she was the International Chair and raised $14,000 which provided medical supplies to Vladimir Russia and worked with doctors at Gaston Memorial Hospital who not only delivered the supplies but also trained doctors in Russia in hip and knee replacements. Pam also chaired the Special Needs Committee for Habitat and BellSouth Volunteers helped purchase beds for the children and other household items for the Rotary Habitat Family. On the Schiele Museum Board she assisted in the design and sponsorship for their first website and was Chair of the Marketing and Development committee which exceeded the 1999-2000 goal by $4000. She co-chaired the Capital Campaign as a member of the Crisis Assistance Ministry Board which enabled them to purchase their present building and also was president of Crisis Assistance for year 2000-2001. Pam was a member of Gaston County Women's Commission Board. She was Vice-Chair of the Gaston Together Board. As Chair of the Special Needs Committee of the Operation Playground Board, she volunteered along with BellSouth Pioneers during the building of the playground. As a member of the Vision Council, she utilized the BellSouth Volunteers and formed the first committee, along with Gaston Schools, to screen over 4,000 students during the 1999-2000 year. This group identifies students in need of eye exams, glasses, etc. She was on the March of Dimes Steering Committee for Gaston County and was Campaign Chair for one year. Pam received the following awards and honors: Community Service Award, nominated by the Gaston Chamber and presented by the Gastonia Jaycees; Business Person of the Year, nominated by the Gaston Chamber and presented by the Gastonia Jaycees; Business Woman of the Year, nominated by the Cherryville Chamber and presented by the Gaston Women's Commission; Gastonia East Rotary's first ever Four Avenues of Service recognizing Pam's participation in various organizations in Gaston County; United Arts Council Encore Award for participation and support of the Arts of Gaston County. Pam was a great wife, mother and grandmother. She was loved and will be missed by all. Pam's family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Firestone Wesleyan Church and other times at the home of Chris and Mandy Massey, 3808 Edgewater Road, Gastonia. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Roger Parsons and the Rev. Danny Janes officiating. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Greg Hayes, Chad Owens, Marc Hovis, Kevin Ford, Brad Massey and Dusty France. Debra "Debbie" Kay Brommer McClure, 59, went home to be with the Lord April 21, 2015. She was born Feb. 15, 1956, the daughter of the late Grace Scruggs Brommer and James Madison Heavner. Debra was a member of East Baptist Church in Gastonia. She loved the Lord, being around her family and going to the mountains and beach. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, aunt and sister-in-law. She loved helping people and being like a mother to others. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Roger McClure; sons, Jack Costner, Scott McClure and fian-cé Carrie Lu Quates, Jesse McClure and fiancé Kristal Whitson; granddaughter, Daphne McClure; sister, Melinda Heavner and brother Danny and Robin Brommer; sister-in-law, Elaine McClure Padgett; nieces, Jessica Stephanie, Tilissa, Jackie, Robin, Dawn, Jamie and special niece and caregiver, Tammy Brommer; nephews, Jason, James, Ben, Robert and Shane; numerous great-nieces and nephews; friends, Gail Brown, Barbara Ramsey and Pam Lane. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry, James, Mike and Gary Brommer; sisters, Sandra Yvonne Brommer Long and Sharon Brommer; mother and father-in-laws Jesse and Ollie McClure. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Timothy Parker. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
