Adams Sr., Robert*  
GASTONIA – Robert Gene Adams Sr., 77, passed away April 19, 2015, at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas. He was born July 24, 1937, in Gaston County, son of the late Leonard Adams and Ethel Adams Schronce. Robert was a US Navy retiree and served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW and retired from WIX Filter Manufacturer. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by stepfather, CJ Schronce; brother, Bill Schronce; and grandson, Grady Ricky Hall Jr. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of over 55 years, Carolyn Adams; sons, Bobby Adams (Leslie), Jeff Adams; daughters, Windy Adams, Cindy Huffstickler; brother, Harold Schronce; sisters, Mildred Gregory, Betty Berry, Becky St.Laurent, Vernell Cosby and Cathy Schronce; grandchildren, Kent and Stevie Huffstickler, Mark and Cody Estes, Ross, Sarah, and Lauren Adams; and great grandchild, Gracie Diane Estes. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia, officiating Pastor Jerry Millwood. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. before the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robin Johnson House, PO BOX 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054 and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, PO BOX 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142. Allran Sr., Charles*  
GASTONIA - Charles Forest Allran Sr., 83, of Union Road, formerly of Jackson Road., died Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born on Dec. 7, 1931 in Gaston County to the late Charles Steele and Kathryn Bartlett Allran. Charles served in the United States Air Force. He received a Master's Degree in Education after attend-ing NC State and Western Carolina University. Mr. Allran retired from teaching after 30 years at Hunter Huss High School. In his younger days, he enjoyed spending time with his children at Wesley Acres Swim and Racket Club. He also enjoyed puzzles and classical music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peg Smith; and brothers-in-law, Bob Smith and Craig Beaty. Survivors include his children, Charles Forest Allran Jr. (Angela Moore) of Lexington, KY, John Wesley Allran (Shannon Joyner) of Pittsboro, Susan Allran Carpenter (Shane) of Gastonia, and James Reid Allran of Cramerton; former wife, Daphene Reid Allran; grandchildren, Zachary, Madison, Aiden, Emersen, Olivia, and Sydney Allran; brother, Mike Allran (Jean) of Florida; and sister, Winona Carol Beaty of Gastonia. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Carpenter's Funeral & Cre-mation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery with military honors conducted by American Legion Post #100. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Auten, Bobbie Jo* - Belmont  
BELMONT - Bobbie Jo Greene Auten, 44, graced the heavenly gates on March 29, 2015, while on va-cation in the Bahamas. Bobbie was preceded in death by her half brother, Anthony Greene. Bobbie Jo was a loving wife and mother, sister and friend to everyone and a fun loving outgoing lady. Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 26 years, Wayne Auten; daughter, Whitney and husband Gerry Mueller of Belmont; son, Jonathan Auten of Belmont; parents, Gladys and Carl Abernathy of York, S.C. and Tony and Lynn Greene of Lake Wylie, S.C.; sister, Tonya and husband Gene Poore and family of Ft. Mill, S.C. Graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday in Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mt. Holly, with the Rev. Jack Haynes to officiate. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the charity of your choice in honor of Bobbie Jo. LOWELL - Leonard Auten, 45, passed away April 12, 2015, at his residence. He was born Feb. 28, 1970, a native of Gaston County, son of Janice and the late David Gene Auten. Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Janice Auten of Lowell; brothers and sisters, Larry Auten and wife, Joyce of Dallas, Doug Auten of Mt. Holly, Annette Grimsley and husband, Gene of Stanley, Su-zanne Campbell and husband, Billy of Kings Mountain, Suzette Harper and husband, Brian of Bessemer City; numerous nieces and nephews; his pet "Misty" and best friends, who the family wishes to give spe-cial thanks to Bryan Massie, Dewayne Payne and Scott Henderson. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Auten and Grandparents, Roy and Betty Baldock and John and Pauline Auten.
