Dean, Rachel* - Gastonia  
GASTONIA - Rachel Stevens Dean, 84, passed away at Caromont Regional Medical Center on Saturday, May 14, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Murphy, N.C., daughter of the late John and Mamie Stephens Stevens. A celebration of life service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Loray Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Interment will be Wednesday, May 18, at Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte. Dixon, Frances* - Spindale  
SPINDALE - Frances Moneita Dixon, 79, of Spindale Street, died May 18, 2016, at White Oak Manor Nursing Center in Rutherfordton. She was born Sept. 3, 1936, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Willie Lee West and Fannie Crotts West. Frances was a lifelong Methodist, a graduate of Cool Springs High School and retired from Broyhill Furniture. Her husband, Hugh Herman Dixon preceded her in death in 1994. Survivors include her son, Mark Dixon and his wife Lauren of Gastonia, her grandchildren, Anna Grace Dixon and Ansley Kate Dixon, a brother, Larry West and wife Lynn of Greer, South Carolina, a sister, Barbara Ann Waters and husband Bud of Sunshine, North Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Covenant Baptist Church, 3131 Erskine Drive in Gastonia with the Rev. Barron W. Lee and Reverend Olin S. Byrum, III, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Forest City. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Padgett and King Mortuary. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Dockery, Charles* - Lowell  
LOWELL - Charles "Max" Dockery, 80, went home to be with the Lord May 22, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born November 20, 1935 in Graham County, the son of the late Blaine Cicero Dockery and Naomi Dockery Powell. Max was a U.S. Army Veteran. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife Blanche Gunter Dockery; son Scott Dockery and wife Tammy and daughter Angela Dockery all of Lowell; grandchildren Trina Lattimore and husband Shawn, Brandon Dockery and Jada Blanton, Brittany Cabaniss and husband Jason, Tiffany Crank and husband Akleeah, Sierra Abernathy and husband Casey, Shiann, Leiah and Lacey "Sky" Dockery and Nick Rowley; great-grandchildren Hayla Hawkins, Landon Lattimore, Marlee and Parker Abernathy; sister Kay Moore and husband Tom of Lowell and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Jo Wright and Myrtle Carpenter and brother Jay Dockery. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia, officiated by Pastor David Reed. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Dole, Linda - Belmont  
BELMONT - Linda Lee Fuller Dole, 67, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at her home. She is the daughter of the late Lowell and Barbara Greenier Fuller. Linda graduated from Bryant & Stratton with an Associate's Degree in Business Administration. She has a strong Christian faith and enjoyed reading her bible daily. She loved and enjoyed being a hairstylist retiring after 30 years of service. Her hobby was making ceramics and she enjoyed making holidays special. Linda had a tenderhearted spirit. Linda leaves behind her loving daughter, Stacey Cruz and husband, Edwin of Belmont and her loving cat, Boo.
