GASTONIA - James "Jimmy" Daniel Ray, 50, passed away Feb. 21, 2015, at CaroMont Regional Medi-cal Center. A native of Gastonia, he was the son of the late James Richard and Betty Thomas Ray. A service to celebrate his life will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia Founders Chapel with the Revs. Sam Barnette and Bobby Gilley officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Rhyne, Larry* - Gastonia  
GASTONIA - Larry Gene Rhyne, 46, passed away Feb. 13, 2015, at home. He was born in Gaston County on Nov. 19, 1968. He was preceded in death by his father Rudy Rhyne. Larry is survived by his mother Gail Foster; brother Steve Rhyne and wife Dular; niece Rachel Rhyne; grandnephew; Brayon Rhyne; his dog Kloe, that he loved so much and special aunts Pat Hodge and Rea Foster. He was a loving son, brother and nephew that would always lend a helping hand, to many he hardly knew. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all. A celebration of his life will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Grace Baptist Church, 2200 Auten Road, Gastonia NC 28054. Family will receive friends one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church. A Simple Service, burial and cremation, is serving the family 704-884-0150.

SHELBY - Ernest Lloyd Rogers, 89, died Feb. 22, 2015, at Kings Mountain Hospice. Born in Cleveland County on June 10, 1925, he was the son of the late Leabron Angus and Mallie Jane Ledbetter Rogers. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Cleveland Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crema-tory. Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family of Mr. Rogers. Rogers, Nell* - Lewisburg  
LEWISBURG, Tenn. - Nell Jenkins Rogers, 81, passed away Feb. 13, 2015, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. Mrs. Rogers was a native of Gastonia, daughter of the late Thomas Jenkins and Maven Lytton Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Rogers who passed away in 2009 and a brother, Thomas Jenkins. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lewisburg. Survivors include two sons, Tony (Connie) Rogers of Humboldt and Timothy Rogers of Lewisburg; two grandsons, Isaac and Drew Rogers of Humboldt; one granddaughter, Tyler Rogers of Humboldt; and two sisters, Mary "Sissy" Parker and Helen Helms, both of Gastonia. Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home. Burial was in Lone Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First United Methodist Church of Lewisburg, 325 W. Church Street, Lewisburg, TN 37091 or the Marshall County Memorial Library, 310 Old Farmington Road, Lewisburg, TN 37091. Condolences of sympathy may be sent to www.billsmcgaugh.com. Rowland, Ronald* - Social Circle  
SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. - Ronald William Rowland, 81, died Feb. 16, 2015, at his daughter, Kay Gibbs' home in Hillsboro, Ga. He was born in Murphy, N.C. on June 10, 1933, to the late Lenora Grindstaff Rowland and the late Char-lie Rowland. Ron served in the Korean War. He worked all his life with never a complaint. He raised his four children with good morals and always said, "If you can't think of anything good to say, keep quiet." He also believed in the good of every man. "You come in to the world with nothing and you'll leave with nothing, meaning you can't take it with you." His reputation was solid as his love for his family. Ron re-tired from GA Building Authority. His hobbies included wood crafts, music, and photography. Surviving are: wife, Virginia B. Rowland of Social Circle, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Ka-ren Rowland of Gastonia; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Larry Presley of Charlotte, Kay and Ed-die Gibbs of Hillsboro, Ga., Pam and Mitch Davis of Gastonia; step-daughters and step-son-in-law, Shei-la and Richard Long of Smyrna, Ga., Sharon Camp of Covington, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Butch Steele of Gastonia; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Carolyn Rowland of Gastonia; 18 grand-children, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, a legacy he was proud of. He was laid to Rest at Social Circle City Cemetery on February 18, 2015. Rev. Mike Hardy Preached his service. Thank you to all of our friends for their prayers and condolences. He will be missed every day.
