Price Sr., Richard* - Laurinburg  
LAURINBURG - Richard Arlen Price Sr., 83, passed away at Morrison Manor on Aug.29, 2015. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by the Rev. Mike Price and the Rev. Gary Lockey. A private burial will be at Hillside Memorial Park. Richard was born on Aug. 2, 1932 in Gastonia, son to the late Millard F. and Gertrude Cooper Price. He had a distinguished career in manufacturing as a supervisor with Pyramid Electric, IRC-TRW, Texas In-struments and Singer-Friden and then retiring after 16 years from Abbott Laboratories where he served in the Laurinburg, Spartanburg, South Carolina, Puerto Rico and Donegal, Ireland plants. Richard was a Christian family man who was all about God and his country and the Bible was his fa-vorite book. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Dixon Price and stepson Glen Lockey. Richard is survived by his sons Richard "Rick" Price Jr. and wife Carolyn of Mocksville and Ronald "Rod" Price of Collettsville, stepson the Rev. Gary Lockey and wife Felisa of Laurinburg, stepdaughters Charmin Poole and husband Chuck of Laurinburg and Christy Wilkes and husband Wayne of Laurin-burg, sister Barbara Price Messer and husband Robert of Gastonia, brothers Grover Allen Price and wife Debbie of Statesville and Michael David Price and wife Juanita of Bessemer City, three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.

Willis, Nell* - Lincolnton  
LINCOLNTON - Nell Lou Whisnant Willis, 86, of Cardinal Health Care, formerly of 321 Eastwood Drive, died Sept. 1, 2015. Mrs. Willis was born Jan. 27, 1929, in Rutherford County, to the late Hubert and Annie Pendleton Whis-nant. Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Boger City United Methodist Church. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Warlick Funeral Home. Warlick Funeral Home is serving the Willis family.

GASTONIA - Mary Skipper Blake, 79, passed away Aug. 29, 2015. She was born in Kings Mountain, daughter of the late Thurman Henry and Viola Lucille Davis Moss. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Joe Skipper, Sr., and sisters, Louise McGraw and Betty Henson. Mary retired from Gaston Memorial Hospital in Culinary Services. She was a member of Catawba Heights Baptist Church. Mary had a great love for life and everyone she came in contact with and will be dearly missed. Survivors include her husband, George Blake; sons, Bobby Skipper, Jr. and wife Susie, Phillip Skipper and wife Linda; daughters, Deborah Myers, Diana Phillips and husband Scott; sisters, Jeanette Caldwell and husband Thomas, Margie Sawyer and husband Bradford, Diane Mullis and husband Jerry; eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia. A funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors with Rev. Max Pendleton officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Gardens, Mt. SHELBY - Martha Jane Deaton, 68, died Aug. 28, 2015, at her home. Born in Harlan, Ky. on June 12, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Corbin and Ethel Blevins Wil-liams. Duncan, Rosa* - Belmont  
BELMONT - Rosa Lee Bingham Duncan, 85, passed away peacefully on Aug. 30, 2015, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. A native of Shooting Creek, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Lee and Ida Bingham. She was a loving mother and grandmother who dearly loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed garden-ing, mountains and outdoors and Indian culture. A service to celebrate her life will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at McLean Funeral Directors of Belmont Bumgardner Chapel with the Rev. Y.Z. Isaacs officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McLean Funeral Directors of Belmont and other times at the home of Ricky and Anita Duncan.
