GASTONIA – Jean Sarvis Cox, 85, passed away May 23, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Gaston County, daughter of the late Kelly Reed and Ara Grice Sarvis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albea B. "Bugs" Cox; brothers, Charles, Buford and Robert Sarvis; sisters, Katherine Cole, Margaret Killian and Evelyn Sarvis. She was a self-employed beautician and cosmetologist and member of East Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Terrie C. (Patrick) Cowell of Gastonia; Kelly J. Cox of Charlotte; brother, Gary Sarvis of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Brian Lane (Jennifer), Cameron Cowell; great-grandchildren, Rylen and Avery Lane; cousins, Gwendolyn Watts, Brenda Spencer; special friends, Joy Drawdy, Connie (Steve) Wilson, Susan Phillips, Debbie Russell, Charles (Paige) Gore, Catherine Edens, Tracy (Jeff) Bryson. A service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at East Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tim Parker. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 p.m. before the service. Burial will follow in Gaston Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to East Baptist Church, 114 North Church St., Gastonia, NC 28054. ELLENBORO – Jacqueline Smith Curtis, 67, died Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County. Born Jan. 18, 1948 in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Smith and Rose Lee Boles Smith. A funeral service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Campfield Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Huffman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Campfield Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. GASTONIA - Martin Keith Deal, 52, of 4613 Grier Street, died May 26, 2015, at CaroMont Health, Gas-tonia. GASTONIA - Robert Lee Easler, 67, passed away May 25, 2015, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug. 4, 1947, a native of Gaston County, the son of the late, Leroy and Lavinia Easler. Robert was a member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church in Gastonia. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Jane Easler; sons, Barry Easler and wife, Martha and Jody Easler; brothers, Jesse Parker and Joe Easler; sisters, Peggy Flowers and Judy Hawkins; grandchil-dren, Jonathan, Christi and Madison Easler. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at Chapel Grove Baptist Church, 716 Camp Rotary Road, Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Roger Overton. Visitation will follow the service at the church. BESSEMER CITY - Katherine Harris Fox, 85, passed away May 26, 2015, at Meadowwood Nursing Center. She was born Dec. 18, 1929 in Gaston County, to the late Claude and Carrie Fowler Harris. She was preceded in death by her daughter; Brenda Fox Arton; sisters, Virginia Downey, Vera Stewart, Evelyn Harris, and Isabel Day; brother, Buck Harris. Katherine is survived by her faithful and loving husband of 60 years, Ernest Fox; her daughter, Pam Voyles and husband Clarence of Bessemer City; son-in-law, Bruce Arton of Shelby; her grandchildren, Daniel Voyles of Earl, NC, Emily Voyles Parker and husband Terry of Bessemer City, Ben Voyles and wife Brooke of VanCleave, MS, Chris Lineberger of Mt. Holly, Erica Menjivar of Concord; six great-grandchildren; Josh Lineberger, Destiny Lineberger, Tyler Parker, Lainee Franklin, Gaige Franklin, and Sam Voyles. Katherine loved her husband and her family, but most of all she loved the Lord. Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Bessemer City Church of God with the Rev. Harold Ashe and the Rev. Froneberger, Naomi* - Gastonia  
GASTONIA - (Proverbs 31:10)"Who can find a virtuous woman, for her price is far above rubies." Naomi-Smith Froneberger, 77, passed away May 18, 2015, and went to be with her Lord and Savior Je-sus Christ. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was the director of Sandy Plains Baptist Church Daycare for many years. Naomi is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Froneberger of Gastonia; children, Robin Froneberger and wife, Tammy of Iron Station, NC, Steve Froneberger and wife, Donna of Belmont, NC, Jan Dockery and husband, Greg of Gastonia; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Becky Gragg and husband, Ted of Kure Beach, NC; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. A celebration of her life will be held 3 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2015, at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park. The Rev. Greg Gordon will preside. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. BESSEMER CITY - Kathy Postell Ghorley, 55, passed away May 20, 2015, at home. She was born on March 1, 1960 in Cleveland County, to Douglas McArthur Postell of Gastonia and Mary Elizabeth Smith Postell of Live Oak, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Joe Ghorley Sr.; her grandmother, Helen Smith; un-cle, Jimmy Smith, aunt, Barbara Lynn. Kathy was a beloved daughter, sister, mother and niece. She was the manager of Edgewood Grill in Bessemer City. In addition to her parents, Kathy is survived by her fiancé, Billy Putnam; sons, Danny Ghorley Jr. and wife Jamie of Ranlo, Kenny Ghorley and fiancée Crystal of Bessemer City; sister, Annette Saldo and fian-cé Roger Gee of Bessemer City; stepmother, Ann Postell; nephew, Nick Saldo and wife Kristie; great-nephew, Greyson; grandchildren, Tayler and Brooke Ghorley. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, Bessemer City.
