JAMAICA - Archie Lee Roseboro, 78, of 134-17 166th Place, Apt. 9A, died May 16, 2015 at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Jamaica. A native of Gaston County, he was the son of the late Daniel Roseboro and Sarah Elizabeth Johnson Roseboro. The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Weeping Mary Baptist Church in Bowling Green, S.C. Burial will follow at Cherryville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Costner Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

CHARLOTTE - Erin Nicole Satterfield passed away May 16, 2015. She was passionate in her love of art, her friends and her family, especially her son Oliver, who was the light of their life. She brought a smile to everyone she met, and was loved dearly. We will miss you beautiful Angel. Erin is survived by her son, Oliver and her loving parents, Yvonne Cashion Satterfield and Richard N. Satterfield Jr.; brothers, Richard N. Satterfield III, Tre Singleton and his loving daughter, Jade; sisters Cathy Satterfield, and Heather Buchko, and many other loving family and friends. Annette (Smith) Sheridan, 54, passed away May 17, 2015. She was born in Winston-Salem to the late Joseph Smith and Alva Smith. She has lived in Gastonia for the past 12 years, coming from Salisbury. Left to cherish her memory are her husband and best friend, Mark Sheridan; brother, Robbie Smith, sons; Joey Hood (Lauren) of Mooresville, David Winecoff (Mitchell) of Myrtle Beach, and T.J. Winecoff (Gina) of Charlotte, daughter; Kimberly Green (Leroy, USMC) of Jacksonville, grandchildren; Abby Rose Green, Le Green and Colton Hood and her constant companion, Sophie. Annette was predeceased by her brother, Norris Dexter Smith, who died in Vietnam. The family will receive friends 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

BURLINGTON - Marlene Taylor Shiles, 74, passed away May 18, 2015 at White Oak Manor in Burling-ton, N.C. after many years of failing health. A native of Gaston County, she was born June 21, 1940 to the late Oliver Monroe Taylor and Vergie Absher Taylor. She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Shiles Rambeaut and husband Darrell of Burlington, Debbie Shiles Johnson and husband Michael of Hickory, Regina Shiles Ellis and husband Steve of Campobello, S.C.; sons, Ronald "Bubba" Eugene Shiles Jr. and wife, Tracy, of Gastonia, and Pastor Billy Ginn and wife, Tina, of York, S.C.; grandchildren, Jaclyn Crisp Davis and husband Caleb, Chevas Smith, Gavin Smith and wife Nikki, Michael Ellis, Lauren Ellis Smith and husband Chris, Samuel Shiles, Nicholas Shiles, Danika Jakab and husband Dustin, Rebekah Ginn and Moriah Ginn; six great grandchildren; sisters, Judy Hovis, Brenda Giles and husband Barney; brothers, Bob Wolfe, Monroe Taylor and wife Frances and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Eddie Taylor. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel in Burlington, N.C. conducted by Ruth Johnson. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home. Following the service the family has invited everyone to join them for a meal at Bible Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, also in Burlington.
