LINCOLNTON - Bobby Lee Brooks, 74, of 1230 Better Brook Lane, died March 5, 2015. Mr. Brooks was born July 17, 1940, in Lincoln County, to Lois Goins Brooks and the late Troy Jefferson Brooks. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Warlick Funeral Home. SHELBY - Mary Frances Bryce, 93, passed from this life on March 3, 2015, at Kings Mountain Hospice House. She was born June 10, 1921, to the late John Ed and Mattie Hamrick Davis. Mrs. Bryce will be placed in the church from 2 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Shelby. Bumgarner, Bobby* - Cherryville  
CHERRYVILLE - Bobby Ray Bumgarner, 80, of Lincolnton Hwy., died March 5, 2015, at the Robin Johnson House, Dallas. He was born on Dec. 26, 1934, in Caldwell County, son of the late George and Ola Seate Bumgarner. Bobby was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dallas, and a retired long haul driver for Carolina Freight Carriers with forty one years of service. He was also a member of the Cherryville Country Club and was an avid golfer. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers Leroy, Donald, Stanley, Lloyd, and Merle Bumgarner, and a sister Jeanette Bumgarner. Survivors include his wife of 58 years Betty Costner Bumgarner, children Rick Bumgarner and wife Jennifer of Nashville, Tenn., and Regina Bumgarner of Cramerton, two grandchildren Colin and Colby Bumgarner, a sister Peggy McSwain and husband Sherrill, of Cherryville, and a brother Olin Bumgarner and wife Kay of Cherryville. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Jonathan Schnibben officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Car-penter's Funeral and Cremation, at other times at the home. McCora, Daniel* - Salisbury  
SALISBURY - Daniel Alan McCora, 40, passed away March 4, 2015. He was born July 30, 1974, in Martinsville, Va., a son of Linda DeRatt Thrower and the late Harry Edwin McCora Jr. Daniel was a 1993 graduate of South Rowan High School and received his certification in Medical Technology. He was currently employed by Schult Homes in Rockwell and Hendrix BBQ on West Innes Street. Daniel enjoyed camping, fishing, and water sports. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carole Ann McCora, whom he married June 28, 2008; his mother and step-father, Joel Gibson Thrower; daughters, Brittany Glover and Mallory Ansell; step-children, Alicia Williams, Jeffrey Beckom, Christopher Kennedy, and Brittany Kennedy; step-grandchild, Lucas Kennedy; sister, Tricia Lin McCora; and brothers, Harry Edwin McCora, III, Brandon Alexander McCora, Christian Scott McCora, and Matthew David Thrower. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Powles Funeral Home in Rockwell. Additionally, friends may come by the home after the funeral service. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Powles Funeral Home, conducted by Dr. Tom Ta-tum, pastor of East Belmont Church of God. KINGS MOUNTAIN - Kanovia (Connie) McSwain, 81, went home to be with her Lord on March 4, 2015. She was born in Draper, N.C., daughter of the late Frank and Lelia Wade. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. She worked as a data processor for First Union Bank She is survived by two precious sons and two precious daughters-in-law, Dennis Mustian and wife, Ann, of Belmont, David Mustian and wife, Kelly of Denver; two sisters, Dorthy Crowder, of Danville, Va., Marcella Young of Santa Maria, Calif.; three brothers, Richard Wade and wife, Betty of Beaufort, Learo Wade and wife, Marie of Salisbury, Learon Wade and wife, Ann, of Durham; four grandchildren, Michael (wife Shea), April, Megan and Paul Mustian, and one great-grandchild, Cierra Johnson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Coran "Mac" McSwain; sister, Helen Hall; brothers, Melvin, Gordon and Alvis Wade. The family extends special thanks to Deacon Bill McMurry and his wife Barbara, Misty Terry, Pat Wil-liams of Kings Mountain and Cameron Coleman of Shelby for their loving care and kindness during her illness. Also, to Jerry Mullinax, her apartment manager at Battle Forest Apartments. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandparents, Jack Ince of Mount Holly, Agustina Ince of Mount Holly, Calvin and Roberta Keeton of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; her great-grandmother, Margaret Newman of Chattanooga, Tenn.; her uncle, Ian Ince and wife Arianna of Mount Holly; two aunts, Erica Ince of Mount Holly and April Zappaterrini and husband Larry of Winter Garden, Florida. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Theron will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
