Ada Van Pelt

GASTONIA - Ada Jordan Van Pelt, 86, formerly of Lowell, passed away Jan. 29, 2014, at Belaire Health Care Center, Gastonia with her loving family by her side. She was born in Gaston County.

Mrs. Van Pelt was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lowell.

Mrs. Van Pelt is survived by two sons, Ralph Dean Van Pelt, Jr. and wife Beverly, Steve Van Pelt and wife Linda of Gastonia; two daughters, Susan Burkhart of Sevierville, Tennessee, Karen Lambert and husband Kenneth of Dallas; one sister, Loutell; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with Dr. David A. Irish officiating.

Interment will follow at Edgewood Cemetery, Lowell.

Mrs. Van Pelt was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather; husband of 50 years, Ralph Dean Van Pelt, Sr.; one sister, Ruby.
