Althea Pruitt

BELMONT - Althea Lee Stewart Pruitt, 83, passed away peacefully and joined her husband and Heavenly Father on Jan. 9, 2013, at Lakewood Care Center in Denver.

A native of Rockingham County, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Odessa Hankins Stewart.

She was a homemaker and a member of South Point United Methodist Church.

A service to celebrate her life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at South Point United Methodist Church with the Rev. Elise Kennedy officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.

Survivors include her children, Sam Pruitt and wife, Denise; Carol Posey and husband, Philip of Belmont, Linda Perryman and husband, Roger of Gastonia; brother, Carlton Stewart of Eden; sister, Betty Jordan of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Allan Shirlen, Sam Pruitt, Jr., Ben Pruitt, Michelle Hagans, Jeff Rosser, Molly Norton, Matt Norton, Angie Perryman and Dale Perryman; great grandchildren, Kristie, Allison and Cordell Shirlen, Mason Johnsen, Carter Hagans, Zeke Henry Pruitt, Lilly Claire Pruitt, Macie Ray Norton, Chandler Norton and Noah Norton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norris Milton Pruett and her sister Ruby Blackwell and brothers, Harry Jr. and Herbert Stewart.

Memorials may be made to South Point United Methodist Church, 510 Southpoint Church Rd., Belmont, NC 28012 or to any
