Alton Rhyne

BELMONT - Alton Cloninger Rhyne, 92, formerly of Belmont, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Oct. 9, 2012.

She was born in Gaston County, daughter of the late Lloyd Preston and Annie Bell Monroe Cloninger.

She was wife of the late Ben L. Rhyne and was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel Sue Rhyne.

She was a former member of McAdenville Baptist Church and was a current member of Lutheran Chapel in Gastonia.

She is survived by one daughter, Patti Tolbert and husband Billy of Mount Holly; two grandchildren, Jessica Tolbert Macintosh and husband, Brian of Belmont and Benjamin Tolbert of Mount Holly; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Isabella; one niece, Cathy Pendleton of Mount Holly; two neph-ews, Eddie Gates of Lowell and Ted Gates of McAdenville.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Rhyne will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at Lutheran Chapel in Gastonia with the Revs. Michael Comer, Charles McManus and Max Pendleton officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.

Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly is serving the family.
