Anna Carolyn Vuoto Carden

GASTONIA - Anna Carolyn Vuoto Carden, 94, of 3608 Pinecrest Drive, Gastonia, N.C., died Dec. 25, 2012 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House, Dallas.
A native of Camden, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Madeline Botino Vuoto. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was a homemaker and member of Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Vuoto; and two sisters, Mary V. Flacco and Rose V. DiPallo.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, William Lewis Carden; two sons and daughters-in-law, William L. Carden, Jr. and wife Ann of Gastonia, and Ronnie and Sandra Carden of Belmont; five grandchildren and spouses, William Christopher and Amanda Carden of Gastonia, Alisha C. and Sam Black of Lowell, April Carden of Belmont, Amanda C. "Knothead" and Brian Pennington of Belmont, Sam C. "Monkeyface" and Todd Hendrix of Bel-mont; and six great-grandchildren. The family also recognizes a very special niece and nephew, Tony and Marie Flacco of Summerfield, FL.
Funeral will be celebrated by Father Frank Crancro at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia. Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior (10 to 11 a.m. Friday) to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, 503 N. Main St., Belmont, NC 28012.
