Barbara Parrish

LAKE WYLIE, S.C. - Barbara Brown McConnell Parrish, of 1 Shipmaster Court, died Feb. 19, 2013, at CMC Pineville.

Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Friday at River Hills Community Church, 104 Hamilton's Ferry Road, Lake Wylie, S.C., with the Rev. Roger Un-derwood officiating.

Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 4820 Charlotte Hwy., Lake Wylie, S.C.

Mrs. Parrish was born March 14, 1938, in Friendfield, S.C., to the late Herman and Lenora Collins Brown.

Mrs. Parrish joined the Clover School family in 1985 as Coordinator of Remedial Programs and later served as Assistant Superintendent of Instruction for 17 years before retiring in 2008. She was elected to the Clover School Board in November 2010, where she continued to serve the students and teachers of the greater Clover community.
Prior to working in Clover, Mrs. Parrish spent 21 years with York School District One as a Teacher, Principal Intern, and Assistant Superinten-dent.

Mrs. Parrish graduated from Limestone College in 1959 and from Winthrop University in 1976.

Survivors are her children Lyn M. Harper (Eric), Walt McConnell (Leigh), Anna Parrish, Parks Parrish, grandchildren Erica and Lucas Harper, Allie and Ann Mason McConnell and Jackson Parrish. She was preceded in death by her husbands William Walter
McConnell, Jr. and Dr. Lace Parrish.
