Betty Jo Kenley Bolick, 75, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at Frye Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Gastonia, N.C. and lived most of her life in Hickory, N.C. She was the daughter of the late Ruth Laughters Kenley Shetley and Charles Boyd Kenley Sr.
Betty Jo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a registered nurse and served as the Director of Nursing at the Trinity Village, Springs Road.
Survivors include her husband Ellis A. Bolick Jr.; five children; Lynne Bolick Reed and husband David of Conover; Kenley Bolick Sigmon and husband Ken of Hickory, N.C., Ellis "Andy" Bolick III and wife Kasey of Taylorsville, Susan Bolick Garren and husband Johnnie Jr. of Hickory, Alice Harris and husband Tim of Hudson; two sisters, Judy K Mc Carthy and husband Tom of Gastonia, and Sandy K. Hale and husband Hank of Mooresville; two brothers, Charles B. Kenley Jr. and wife Sandy of Raleigh, and Jack Kenley and wife Jill of Chapel Hill; and a large number of grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at 5 p.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Hickory with the Reverend Dave Keck and Vicar Kate Maul officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 3:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church prior to the service.
