Betty Parnell

DALLAS - Betty Sue Cloer Parnell, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Jan. 29, 2014, at Brian Center Health and Retirement Nursing Home, Lincolnton.

She was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Gaston County, to the late Rev. M. G. Cloer and Emma Ross Cloer.

Betty was a member of Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church in Dallas.

She is survived by her sons, Tommy Parnell of Dallas, Rick Parnell and wife Donna of Gastonia; sisters, Rachel Little and husband Blair of-Lillington, NC, Ruth Anderson of Alexis; brother, Bill Cloer and wife Joan of Bluffton, SC; grandchildren, Chris Parnell, Briana Dees, Cody Crenshaw, and Tracy Whitley, six great-grandchildren

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Colie Glenn Parnell; son, Larry Parnell; stepson, Bob Parnell; brother, Mike Cloer.

Her funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church, Dallas with the Revs. Ralph Carver and Blair Little officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Her family will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church.
