GAFFNEY, S.C. - Carl Houck Jr., 78, of 4778 Union Highway, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 31, 2012, at his residence.
Born in Gastonia, he was the husband of the late Martha Faye Barber Houck and son of the late Carl Halk Sr. and Nellie Glaze Halk Ashworth.
Mr. Houck retired from Precision Machine Products in Gastonia, was a U. S. Army
veteran serving in the Korean War
, and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are four daughters, Serita Dockery and husband, Dale of Gastonia, Jerita Mull and husband, Donny of Fort Mill, Tammy Brown and hus-band, Bennie of Gaffney and Pam Grigg and husband, Scott of Gastonia; a brother, Billy Halk and wife, Joyce of Cleveland, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Crissy Lee and husband, Dustin, Thomas Parks and wife, Laura, Austin Mull, Connor Mull, Benji Brown, Renae Brown, Wesley Brown and wife, Jamie, Elizabeth Grigg and Cady Grigg; eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday at Corinth Baptist Church in Gaffney, S.C..
Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at the Church with Dr. Dwight Easler officiating.
Committal services, with military honors, will be held 4 p.m. Friday at Westview Gardens, 1123 Edgewood Road, Bessemer City.
The family will be at the residence, 4778 Union Highway, Gaffney.
