David Payseur Sr.

BELMONT - David Thomas "Flop" Payseur Sr., 78, passed away July 21, 2013, at Peak Resources, Gastonia.

He is the son of the late Arthur and Virgie Goodnight Payseur.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Flop was an outstanding baseball player and an avid sports fan. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes and loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include, his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Sue Burch Payseur; sons, David Thomas "Tommy" Payseur Jr. and wife, Ann of Belmont, Kevin Payseur of Belmont; grandchildren, Amber Griffith, Courtney Payseur, Ryan Payseur, Katie Dare McCurry, Chad and Justin Johnson, John and Karl Walthers.

In addition to his parents, Flop was preceded in death by, brothers, Earl and Willie Payseur.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 12:50 p.m. prior to the service at McLean Funeral Directors of Belmont.

Celebration of life service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bumgardner Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Pennington officiating and David Robinson.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
