GASTONIA - Edna Dotson Lawing, 92, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013.
Born in Vonore, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late John E. Dotson and Dellah Dotson Bright.
Mrs. Lawing was a member of Daystar Baptist Church. After retiring from the textile industry, she was a seamstress for many years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lawing was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Kenneth E. Lawing; 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Cathy Lawing of Ranlo and Dean and Priscilla Lawing of Gastonia; special niece, Doris Deal; grandchildren and spouses, Rebekah L. and Chris Duncan, Shannon L. and Brian McGinnis, Vanje L. and Freddie Wray, Matthew Lawing, Anissa Lawing and Brandi L. Weaver; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Nealie Mullins of Huntersville and Johnnie and Horace Shoemaker of Cramerton.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia with the funeral service to follow at noon in Founders Chapel. The Rev. Perry Huffstetler will officiate. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
