MOUNT HOLLY - Ernest Burris, 87, died Jan. 16, 2013, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia.

He was a native of Gaston County, son of the late William Burris and the late Cora Meeks Davis.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at Macedonia Baptist Church, Mount Holly.

Visitation will be 30 minutes before the service at the church
