Harvey Picklesimer

GASTONIA - Harvey "Randy" Pickelsimer, 78, passed away March 24, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 10, 1935, in Gaston County, son of the late, Richard B. Pickelsimer and Flossie Grant Pickelsimer Sweat.

Randy was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and he loved fishing. He was a Vietnam veteran who retired from the US Air Force. He was a member of the Order of the PJ's - US Air Force. He owned a sky-diving business in Charlotte and was the former owner of Airolite Insulation Company in Gastonia.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052, offici-ated by Pastor David Armstrong.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 12:45 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.

Mr. Picklesimer is survived by: his loving wife of 58 years, Peggy Pickelsimer; Peggy's Papa, Edwin Williams; daughters, Debbie Hughes, Lisa Herron and former son in-law, Tim Herron, Becky Brown and husband Shawn; sisters, Saundra Sanders, Brenda Dian Enfinger and husband, Raleigh; 9 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Pickelsimer; brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Helen Stroupe; nu-merous nephews and nieces; many other extended family members; special caregivers, James and Dottie Brown.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by: his great-granddaughter, Gabby; brothers, Butch and Bill Pickelsimer; mother-in-law, Ellen Williams and brother in-law, Bobby Sanders.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
