JACKSON, Tenn. - James Douglas House "Jay" or "J.D." passed away Jan. 6, 2013, at the Jackson Madison County Hospital in
Jackson, Tenn., due to complications of pneumonia.
He was born Sept. 30, 1932, in White County, Ga.
Jay was 80 years old, and lived in Belmont for 50 years. He most recently resided in Jackson, Tenn. for the last 2 1/2 years. Jay was a beloved father, brother, uncle and friend. He was a joy to all who had the honor of knowing him. He will truly be missed, but forever live in our hearts. Jay was an avid fisherman, bowler and very much involved with the South Jackson Senior Center in Jackson, Tenn. He was admired by his Center friends and very much adored them as well.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Herman and Lily Jane House. He was also preceded in death by: his son, Ricky Douglas House; brothers, Tilford, Ed, John, Curtis and Lamar House; sister, Bernice McAllister.
He is survived by his sister, Eloise Heidelberg and her husband, James Heidelberg of Jackson, Tenn.; special nieces, Kim Jones of Gastonia, Penny Rankin of Jackson, Tenn.; children, Marlene and James of Gastonia, Robbie of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
Visitation for Jay will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Road, Gastonia.
