GASTONIA - James "Jim" Woodrow Quick, 60, passed away June 23, 2013, at Medwest Haywood, Clyde, N.C.
Jim was a native of Gaston County, son of the late James Arthur and Carrie "Pat" Byers Quick.
Jim was a member of Stowe Baptist Church, former member of Myrtle United Methodist Church and attended New Bethel Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Gaston County Police Department, Charlotte Bureau of the FBI, worked for the DMV in Gastonia and was the Mobile Communications Operator with Carolina Freight. Jim was the owner of ACT, Inc. He was a veteran of the US Air Force
and member of the Cramerton Masonic Lodge.
His survivors include his wife, Betty Hege Quick; daughter, Holly Quick Yasaki and husband Dan; sister, Scottie Quick Graham and husband Randy; step son, Ritchie Wright and wife Becky; stepdaughter, Charis Farmer and husband Rodney; grandchildren Weston and Eric Yasaki, Kyle Jarrell, Joshua Wright, Joseph Wright, Kelsey Farmer, Jarod and Zoe Hoffman and great grandson, Andrew.
A visitation will be held 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors with the Revs. John Duncan and Kim Higgins officiating.
Entombment will be at Gaston Memorial Park with full Masonic Rites.
