GASTONIA - Joan Monicke Green, 42, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 2, 2013, at Carolinas
She was born in Cleveland County, daughter of Willidean Louise Green and the late Richard Robbins.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Willie Mar Meeks Green, Willie Bee and Prelow Robbins.
She attended UNC Charlotte and was a graduate of Bessemer City High School.
She was employed by AMP Incorporated and Charlotte OB/GYN.
She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Gastonia.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by sister, Antica Green Carter (Kenneth) of Belmont, Emitta Green Martin of Lowell, Sylvia Robbins of Gastonia, Tiffany Robbins of Gastonia; brothers, Shawn Smith of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Dewayne Robbins of Gastonia; nephews, Kenneth Eugene Carter II; niece, Cierra R. Baxter and Jazmine M. Martin and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
A celebration of life service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Gastonia with the Rev. Dr. Benjamin Hinton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be at Vantine Cemetery.
Martin's Funeral Home in Gastonia is serving the family.
