GASTONIA - Margaret Grigg Dorsey, 89, died Jan. 2, 2013, at the Robin Johnson Hospice House, Dallas.
We've lost a wonderful, loving, and caring person in our lives but know that Heaven will welcome her with open arms.
A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Lula Grigg.
During her lifetime, she worked in Textiles at Threads, Inc. and Sears. She was a longtime member of Myrtle United Methodist Church.
A service to celebrate her life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Myrtle United Methodist Church with the Revs. Kimberly Higgins and Jay Dorsey officiat-ing.
Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, James Dorsey; daughter, Pam Newman and husband, Ray of Shalimar, Florida; son, Rick Rumfelt and wife, Tena of Gainesville, Ga.; stepsons, Jay Dorsey and wife Ann of Blackstock, S.C. and Ronnie Dorsey of Falston; brothers, Joe Grigg of Gastonia and Ray Grigg of Dallas; grandchildren: Brad Williams, Matt Williams, Mandie Forgea, Casey Cook, Destiny Rumfelt, Jason Dorsey, Krystal Cauthran, Jenna Jones, Ronnie James Dorsey and Lucky Dorsey; numerous great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronnie L. Rumfelt; brothers, Otto, Bobby Carroll and Steve Grigg; sisters Ruth Johnson, Lucille Burroughs and Thelma Robinson.
