Marjoylyne Addington

DENVER - Marjoylyne Stevenson Addington, 78, passed away Jan. 9, 2013, at Harris Hospice in Charlotte.

Mrs. Addington was born Aug. 28, 1934, in Iredell County, daughter of the late John Harvey Stevenson Sr. and Sallie Martin Stevenson.

She was a graduate of Scotts High School and Mitchell College. She attended Faith Baptist Church in Iron Station, NC and was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church in Denver, NC. She worked as a secretary for the Fred Chamblee Law Office, Statesville Brick and later retired from Duke Power Company. She was first married to the late James Freeland, later married the late Calvin Hager and now precedes her husband, Bobby Blair Addington, who survives of Denver.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Addington is survived by three step-sons, Bobby Addington, Jr. and wife, Deborah of Stanley, NC, David Addington of Maiden, NC, Brad Addington and wife, Tammy of Dallas, NC, 10 step grandchildren, two brothers, Joe R. Stevenson and wife, Carolyn, Junius Thomas (Tom) Stevenson and wife, Sue; two sisters, Marie S. Stevenson and husband, Charles, Bonnie S. Johnson and husband, Bill and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Sharpe Stevenson all of Statesville.

She was preceded in death by one step-son, Brent Addington and one brother, John Harvey Stevenson, Jr.

A memorial service for Marjoylyne Addington will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Thomas Stevenson officiating.

Burial will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Nicholson Funeral Home.
