Rudyard Cable

GASTONIA - Rudyard Graham "Rudd" Cable, 84, went to his Heavenly Home on Nov. 18, 2012, at his residence.

He was a native of Gaston County, born Sept. 18, 2012, to the late Paul and Mildred Payne Maddox.
Rudd was retired from Warner Swasey with over 34 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, he loved his family.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Jeanne Tate Cable; two sons, Scott Hasty and wife Becky of York, S.C., Steve Moore and wife Leona of Gastonia; granddaughter, Candace Edwards and husband Roger of Belmont; and two great-grandchildren, Brianna and Allan Edwards.

A celebration of life service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Boyce officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. following the service.

Inurnment will be private in The Columbarium Garden at South Minister Presbyterian Church.
