Vaden Layel

DALLAS - Vaden Elvert Layel, 53, passed away April 22, 2013, at Robin Johnson House, Dallas.

Vaden was a native of Gastonia, son of Jack Henry Layel and the late Margaret Davis Layel.

He was a member of Kings Mountain Interdenominational Holiness Church. He was a musician playing the bass guitar at church and supported their mission work. He also loved playing Bluegrass.

Survivors include his wife, Tina McKinney Layel; daughter, Torrie Layel; brothers, Kenneth Layel and wife Sharon, Wayne Layel and sisters, Sharon Black and husband Larry and Nancy Layel.

The family will receive friends 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia.

A funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors with the Revs. Thomas Ramsey and Eddie Russell officiating.

Entombment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park Mausoleum of Peace.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
