KINGS MOUNTAIN - David L. Huffstetler, 83, of 415 Range Road, died Jan. 25, 2014 at his home.

He was born in Gaston County to the late Robert Theodore Huffstetler and Mylie Dixon Huffstetler.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Julia Yarbro Huffstetler; brothers, Bobby Huffstetler and Samuel Bruce Huffstetler; sister, Sarah Mae McDaniel.
Mr. Huffstetler was a fabricator and drafting expert who retired after 25 years from Mundy Machine Co., in Dallas. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Huffstetler enjoyed fishing, golfing, farming and gardening. The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to Hospice of Gaston County for their love and care.
SURVIVORS: brother, Jerry Huffstetler and wife Peggy, Talladega, Ala.; sisters, Doris Hardin, Spartanburg, S.C., Frances Lail and husband Jack, Kings Mountain, Theo Hawkins, Cramerton; Annie Robinson and husband, Mitchell, Gastonia, Gloria Smith and husband Dick, York, S.C., Gail Moss, Myrtle Beach, S.C ., Margie Kircus and husband Clifford, Cramerton; special nephews and nieces, Charlie and Susan Sipes, Jennifer and Greg Laye, Knot and Pam Yarbro, all of Kings Mountain; caregivers: Collene Bledsoe, Diane Almond, Louise Bray, Brenda Strickland; many loving nephews and nieces.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Bethlehem Baptist Church, Dr. Steve Taylor officiating.
VISITATION: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain; other times at his home, 415 Range Road, Kings Mountain
