Lander Lee Fredell, 79, of Jacksonville, Fla. died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013.

He was born June 4, 1934 in Gastonia to the late Floyd and Ruth Fredell. Lander was a retired United States Air Force veteran, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, was retired from Boeing Air Craft after 19 years of service as a machinist and had lived in Jacksonville since 1994.
He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Patricia Mauney; and two brothers, Albert & Richard Fredell. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Edith; son, David Fredell and wife Kerry; daughters, Linda Bingham and husband Randy, Rose-Marie Lowrey and husband Billy; brother, Donald Fredell; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road in Jacksonville, with Rev. Terry L. Griffis officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
