MOUNT HOLLY - Robert Eli Childers, 83, of 1741 Old Hickory Grove Road, died April 23, 2013.

He was born in Jackson County, Ga., son of the late Robert and Emma Mozell Childers.

He was husband of the late Eunice Mullinax Childers and was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Stone and two brothers, James and Bud Childers. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by two sons, James Emory Childers and wife Cindy of Franklin, N.C. and Robert B. Childers and wife Phonzie of Dallas; one daughter, Debbie J. Childers of Mount Holly; three sisters, Helen Hulet of Winder, Ga., Betty Rutledge and Evelyn Gilreath both of Bethlehem, Ga.; two brothers, Dan and Gene Childers both of Winder, Ga.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and his special friend and compan-ion, Ruth Childerz.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Childers will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Caroll Flack officiating.

Burial will be at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
