GASTONIA - Ronald Edward Stroupe Sr., 82, died June 4, 2014.

He was a native of Gaston County, son of the late John W. and Ruth Cox Stroupe. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Betty, John, Ann, Nancy, Kenneth, and grandson, Chris Franklin.

In 1967 Ronald founded Dallas Electric in Dallas and in 1975 Dallas Plumbing was incorporated into the business. Ronald was a big supporter of Dallas Youth Programs. Ronald served his country in the US Air Force stationed in Korea during the Korean War. He was a very active member of East Baptist Church serving as Secretary, Deacon, Trustee, and various other roles in the church. Ronald had a love for the beach, antique cars, and horses at his farm, Spring Creek Stables in Dallas. He loved the time spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a very loving and generous man who never turned down anyone in need and will be dearly missed by family and all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Jane Willis Stroupe; children, Pamela Stroupe Avery and husband Ken, Ronald E. "Ronnie" Stroupe, Jr. and wife Mickie, C. Steven Stroupe and wife Teresa, Chris S. Stroupe and wife Lisa; sisters, Dorothy S. Shields, Judy S. Nicholas, Jane S. Ballard and husband David; grandchildren, Amanda Carter, Jennifer Bailey, Allison Isenhour, Nicholas Stroupe, Eric Stroupe, Jeremy Stroupe, Brent Stroupe, Jon Schafer, Scott Davis, Jake Schafer, Jeff Davis, Janet Schafer; great grandchil-dren, Caroline Dyke, Maylee Stroupe, Coleman Schafer, Luke Isenhour, Cooper Davis, Rylan Davis; sis-ters-in-law, Betty Willis, Retha Willis, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ronald also leaves behind his five beautiful TWH horses and precious dog Benji.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. Saturday at East Baptist Church.

The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Tim Parker and Dr. Robert Winecoff officiating.

Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park after the service.
