CLOVER, S.C. - Sam Houston Bowman, 84, of 1701 Lawrence Road, died April 17, 2013, at White Oak Manor, York, S.C.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakeview Memory Gardens with the Rev. Dr. Douglass Key officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Clover, S.C.
Mr. Bowman was born June 19, 1928 in York County, SC to the late Lonnie Albert and Daisy Stewart Bowman. He was a 1946 graduate of Clo-ver High School, and received his Electrical Engineering Degree in 1959 from the University of S. C. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, retired from American Thread Co. and Southern Industries of Clover. Mr. Bowman was a Mason and Shriner, past chairman of the Clover School District Board of Trustees, member of the Clover Leaf Investors Club, Deacon & Elder of Clover Presbyterian Church, past member of Spring Lake Country Club, and an avid golfer.
Survivors are his wife of 64 years Josie Cook Bowman; son Ronald Craig Bowman (Lisa) of Clover, SC; granddaughters Tasha Bowman of Willis-ton, SC and Annie B. Brisco (Christopher) of Spanaway, WA; sister Tee Withers of Dallas, NC; two brothers Jim Bowman (Dora) of Rock Hill, SC and Lonnie A. Bowman, Jr. (Sylvia) of Columbia, SC; special niece Linda B. Lunsford; and many nieces and nephews.
